April 1912. The world of art is rapidly changing. Paris is bustling with activity; painters, theatres, galleries, famous and infamous artwork, collectors, all are reaching for immortality. A small and slender Dutch lady, named Helene arrives after a long trip and installs herself and her company, her husband Anton Kröller and her art teacher and advisor Hedricus Bremmer, at the glamorous hotel Meurice. Their mission in Paris is to find artwork of a painter that Helene under the spell of Bremmer’s grand theories of art has started to appreciate. She has set her mind on obtaining as much a possible artwork of this painter. As a fanatic collector she starts rooming Paris with her two companions, Bremmer for the advice and inspiration, and her wealthy husband for the resources.
