The Cyprus Academy of Music, in collaboration with Gnosyart, presents an Exhibition by Katerina Parpa  at ‘Academy 32’- Art Lounge. Katerina Parpa is a young “Creative Spirit”, as she likes to call herself. She is an artist, designer and most recently an entrepreneur.

She was born in Cyprus in 1981 but spent most of her adolescence in Southern California, from 1995 until 2001. She studied Fashion Design in Los Angeles and Fashion Buying in Milan, returning to Cyprus in 2002.

A fresh face in the art community, Katerina currently runs her own Studio-Gallery in the old town of Nicosia, where she hosts the work of young Cypriot and Greek fashion designers and other “creative spirits” such as herself.

The graphic possibilities of Katerina Parpa are inexhaustible. Her works display thousands of shades of light and employ the use of shadowing. Despite the general thinking black-and-white scale is a brighter colouring, as it provides a medium for the viewer to concentrate on the picture, and not be distracted by the diversity of colour.

As always at Academy 32, Art Lounge you can try up to 32 quality Cyprus wines together with homemade Zivania to savour, whilst listening to a Cuban musician, and the famous Cypriot conductor, Yiannis Hadjiloizou, play classical music and Jazz.
