Vasylia Vasiliou is a young Cypriot emerging artist from Nicosia. She has spent many years living in London. Her work is inspired by pop, punk-gothic, and street art with a focus on the Art of Clowning.
From the streets of London, she introduces the Art of Clowning, focusing on Performing Arts, more specifically on the Performance Art of Clowning. Vasylia has just created the Pagliaccio Series of Alternative Art Events team, consisting of amateur and professional artists, for the presentation of alternative art events, in Cyprus and abroad. She is a consultant psychologist, special teacher and hypnotherapist. She attended professional training for the Art of Clowning at Oxford and is currently using this art, as well as other alternative art methods in her work, especially with children. She used to perform live in the streets of London as a clown-mime.
Katerina Iacovides was born in Muscat, Oman in 1985 but grew up in Cyprus. She studied in England, taking an Art Foundation course at the London Metropolitan University and later obtaining a Degree in Illustration from Westminster University. She has showcased her work in Cyprus in two group exhibitions - ‘Pretty Skin’ at Bastione Bar in December 2008-January 2009 and the anti-cancer charity exhibition at Gallery Toufexis in May 2009. A piece of hers has also been exhibited on the London Underground as a poster. She is now in England doing her Master’s Degree in Graphic Design.
Michelle Theodotou was born in London in 1984 and moved to Cyprus five years later, where she grew up. She did an Art and Design Foundation course at the University of the Creative Arts (UCA) in Surrey and after discovering she wanted to study Illustration she went to Southampton Solent University and obtained a Degree in her study of choice. Since then she has worked in Fashion, had a solo exhibition in Florence, Italy called ‘United Stories of the Youth’ in March and April 2008 and participated in a group exhibition called ‘Pretty Skin’ in December 2008 until January 2009, with artists Anastasia Loginova and Katerina Iacovides. Currently, she is living in London and working as an artist. She recently presented her work at the bohemian space ‘Showcase-London.’
